Renewals and state fees
The renewal price is the price
- $149.99 this year, $149.99 next year, $149.99 the year after. Competitors give the first year away and then raise the price. We charge a fair price and keep it the same every year. A free first year exists to fund a renewal jump, and we refused the jump.
- If the list price ever changes, yours doesn’t. Existing customers keep the price they signed up at.
- 30 days’ written notice before every renewal. The email states the amount and the date, and cancelling is one click, with no phone call and no retention script.
How the state fee works
The state’s fee is not ours and we treat it that way. This is the exact text that appears at checkout and on every invoice:
State filing fees are set by, and paid to, the state. They are shown separately from Filing Agency's service fee and are collected with your order as a pass-through.
- No hidden fees. The service fee you see is the whole of what we charge. There is no processing fee, no handling fee and nothing added at the last screen; the state’s own fee is passed through at exactly what the state charges.
- You can do this yourself. You can file directly with your state and pay only the state’s fee. What you buy from us is the work and the responsibility for getting it right, not access to the state.
- We never mark it up. The amount on your invoice is the amount the state charges, to the cent.
- We never hide it. No “from $0” pricing that meets the state fee at the last screen. The total already includes it, and the full breakdown is on screen before you enter a card number.
- “Free” is a word we don’t use. Nothing we sell is free, and a “free” offer sitting beside a mandatory state fee would be misleading anyway. You see the price in full, and every part of it, before you pay.
When money comes back
The state rejects the filing
The whole total refunded, the state’s charge included. You are never charged for a filing that didn’t take.
You cancel before we submit
Everything refunded. Until the filing goes to the state, walking away costs nothing.
We file late
If a filing you approved on time is late because of us, we pay the state’s penalty and refund what you paid us. It’s in the terms, not just here.
Pricing questions
Why isn't there a free first year?
Because free first years are how renewal jumps get paid for. Competitors give the first year away and then raise the price; we charge a fair price and keep it the same every year: $149.99 this year, $149.99 next year, $149.99 the year after. You never have to remember to cancel before a price trap springs.
Will my renewal price go up?
No. Registered agent service renews at $149.99 a year. That is the same price you paid the first year. If our list price ever changes for new customers, existing customers keep the price they signed up at. And we email you 30 days before any renewal; nothing renews silently.
Are there charges you haven't listed here?
No. The catalog is what you can see: the services on this page, the compliance packages on their own page, and a few marked “coming soon” in the order form that cannot be bought until their price is published. Every service is quoted as one total, and the full breakdown of that total is on screen before you pay. Nothing is pre-checked in a cart, and there is no charge for receiving your own mail, and no processing or handling fee of any kind.
What exactly gets refunded, and when?
